We welcome international schools from across Europe to apply for full membership into the ESC. Prospective schools can also participate in any of our tournaments as guest schools or non-ESC members. In addition to sharing the cost of the tournament fee (maximum EUR 850 per school), there is an additional EUR 100 fee for non-ESC members or guest schools.

Prospective schools must apply for Trial Membership to the ESC chairperson before the end of October. At the November meeting that prospective school will be invited to give a short presentation about their school and how their school can be a positive addition to the ESC. Member schools will then vote on whether to allow the prospective school to becoming a Trial Member school.

Once accepted, the Trial Member school will be expected to participate in all the ESC tournaments with the same rights and level of commitment as any Member school. At the following November Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Trial Member school will be re-evaluated (level of participation, performance and positive contribution towards the ESC). A final vote on whether the Trial Member school would become a Full Member school be decided at this AGM.

As a Member school, an annual fee of EUR 600 entitles the school to participate in all ESC tournaments. Member schools are expected to send their Athletic Director to the AGM in November and May. Full Member schools are expected to host at least one tournament per year and offer housing of guest athletes within their school community for at least 2 nights.

A European Sports Conference message to our communities

The ESC sports conference, as well as other international and national school sports organisations, have given students, coaches, and communities opportunities to build character, show care, and develop resilience for many years. To our student-athletes, as you face challenges over the coming months, now is an opportunity to use the team spirit, leadership, and determination we have witnessed at our tournaments over the years. We challenge you to find ways with your local communities, family, and friends to show the same persistence off the field as you have shown on it. Finally to show the resilience to adapt to your new exam structures, your online learning and remaining balanced while at home.

Our sports conferences will continue to support students, coaches, and communities for many years to come as we too learn to adapt and rise to the challenges ahead.
